Other places to go with LIVE MUSIC

The Dog & Duck

58 Lower Street Stansted Mountfitchet CM24 8LR

Between them, Griff Evans and Kris Ambrose have resurrected the 02 at the Dog and Duck in Stansted Mountfitchet.

On the 2nd Tuesday each month there is an open mic with amplification, backing musicians if you need them but mainly a great music night out.

Music starts at 8.00pm and finishes at around 11.00pm

The pub has a great reputation for some of the best food available in a pub, so it is an ideal venue to “Make and Evening Of”.

4 RIVERS FOLK CLUB @ THE HERTFORD CLUB

WITH PAT CRILLY

Twice a month Pat Crilly hosts a little get together at the delightful Hertford Club, Bulls Plain, Hertford. It takes place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month and is well worth a visit, either to play or to listen. For performers it is always best to prebook a spot. This can be done via the Four Rivers Facebook group, through Pat Crilly on Facebook or via his e mail patcrilly@hotmail.com. Pat's list of friends is long and very talented, so there is always someone or a group, trio or duo who will make your evening. Pat normally puts something out on Facebook announcing who is doing what. He does get the opportunity of being a launch base for many acts, so expect to see plenty of variety.

THE HERALD ON A WEDNESDAY

WITH KRIS AMBROSE

The Herald on Broadley Road, Harlow is the Mecca for live music in Harlow. Kris (with a K) Ambrose hosts one of the better Open Mic Nights in Harlow. Again, best to search Facebook for Kris and further details.

ROYSTON LIVE!.

Royston Folk Club has now moved both day and frequency. Long time Club Stalwarts Chris and Mark have handed over the organising reigns to a new group. They have now moved from their traditional Friday night to the last Thursday in the month at the Plough at Shepreth. This new venue are no strangers to live music and  have a great atmosphere and a newsletter as well. Contact via their website ROYSTON FOLK CLUB
